"Perfectionism is slow death." Hugh Prather

Do you believe that perfection will make you happy? Do you subject others to your ridiculous standards? Do you "do nothing" because it won't be perfect? This blog is in dedication to the ridiculous lengths I go to in search for perfection, and the insanity I encounter along the way.

Wonderland In A Box - Keep 'em busy!

I wanted to post this before I forgot where I got it!  I saw this, what I call, wonderland in a box idea that I wanted to try out.  I had all these bags of dried beans when I thought I might try and be more frugal and decided I would choose to be frugal somewhere else and open a can of perfectly cooked beans.  Anyway, all I did was get a clear tub and open the bags.  I let my son mix them and as you can see, his McDonald Land toys are perfect for this particular "rock quarry" terrain.

And I am not sure what goes through a boys mind...

But he's happy!

When Ava wakes up I plan on getting his little construction people and trucks and he can dump truck the stones to his heart's content.  I plan on making more of these...

Warning: You will continually try to graduate to a bigger box to contain the "beans", your child may think these are "nuts" and try to eat them, they may also make your child's hands dirty...just sayin'

  1. Kris you crack me up! That is so funny and Sam looks like he is loving it! Another fun activity might be letting him vaccum them up later. Getting to make all that loud noise....what boy wouldn't like to do that? ;)

  2. Uh, yeah we have already had that discussion. I think some of these ideas should come with disclaimers "Warning, child will continually throw beans out of the box" "Warning, child will think they are nuts and try to eat them" "Warning, toy may make your child's hand filthy" lol
